The Pelicans are fighting for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
And, to make the Eastern Conference playoffs, the Orlando Magic will need to make up some ground.
Both teams are struggling to reach the postseason as they prepare to meet Monday night in New Orleans.
In their season series against the Pelicans, the Magic hope to win all three games and take the series. On January 20th, Orlando defeated New Orleans on the road, 123-110.
The Pelicans, currently in last place at No. 10, have dropped both of their games since the All-Star break. New Orleans lost 128-106 to the Knicks in New York on Saturday, following a Thursday loss to Toronto by five points. The Pelicans trailed the Knicks by 20 points after the first quarter.
Brandon Ingram scored 19 points to lead the Pelicans to a loss against the Knicks on Saturday, but the team still dropped their third straight and fourth of five games.
I really hope he gets back in shape soon because he still hasn’t gotten over the rust from being injured for so long.

Nance will not be able to play against Orlando on Monday because he hurt his ankle.
Nance was seen leaving the arena on crutches on Saturday, so it’s not surprising that he’s been ruled out a full day before Monday’s game, and it’s possible that he’ll miss more than one game.
The Pelicans haven’t said when he’ll be back yet, but at this point in the fantasy season, it’s risky to have injured players on your team who aren’t on injured reserve.
The New Orleans Times-Christian Picayune’s Clark quotes David Griffin, the Pelicans’ executive vice president of basketball operations, as saying that Williamson has hurt his right hamstring even more and will be out for a few more weeks.
Williamson hurt himself on January 2 and won’t be able to play again until at least the end of February and probably the first half of March, if not longer.
The Orlando Magic
As a result of Saturday’s home loss to 12th-place Indiana by a score of 121-108, the Magic are currently in 13th place in the Eastern Conference, four games out of the final play-in spot.
Its road record is 10-20, and before returning home on Sunday, Orlando will stop in Milwaukee on Wednesday and Charlotte on Friday.

Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel says that Isaac won’t play Monday against the Pelicans because he has a right hamstring strain.
Isaac went out of action for two and a half years because of injuries. He came back at the end of January and played in 11 of 14 games. The only times he didn’t play were during back-to-back sets.
This is definitely bad news for the forward who gets hurt a lot. The severity of the problem is still unknown, but Orlando is likely to be very careful with him going forward.
