You’d be forgiven for thinking some of the contestants from this year’s Winter Love Island look familiar, and that’s because, as many viewers have pointed out, some of them are eerily similar to those from previous years.
The new contestants on Winter Love Island and their lucrative endorsement deals were recently announced
There is less than a week until the premiere of the Winter edition of Love Island, and the cast will have to live up to the high expectations set by the show’s summer edition, which featured intimate balcony makeout sessions and cheesy lines like “I licked her tit or whatever.”
Many viewers have noted that the new crop of contestants looking for love and a lucrative fashion deal look strikingly similar to stars from previous seasons since they were introduced on Monday.
At least one person has tweeted: “Do they just press ctrl+c on contestants each year? I forget people’s names because they all look so similar to the years before. Give us something newwwwwwwwwwww.”
Consider the contestants and their glamorous “twins” from this year.

Ekin-Su Cülcülolu and Tanyel Reven
Tanyel, a 26-year-old hair stylist, and Ekin-Su, the winner from the previous year, could be sisters thanks to their matching caramel hair and porcelain complexions. Tanyel, like the actress Ekin, has shown a preference for cut-out dresses on her Instagram page.
Tanyel says of herself that she is “funny, loud, feisty, charismatic,” so their physical appearance may not be the only thing they have in common.
When Tanyel was asked for her “elevator pitch” to potential suitors, she replied: “I’m hard to get, confident, funny, charismatic, good looking and happy. I’m also a very loyal person, what is there not to love?”

Danny Williams and Kai Fagan
Kai and Danny, the gym instructor, look remarkably similar when they smile.
Since both Kai and Danny are PE teachers in Manchester, it’s safe to assume that they share an interest in health and wellness.
Because of his “high expectations” in a partner, Kai has admitted he is “single by choice,” which could make dating him difficult.
What I bring to the villa is my sense of humor, the teacher said when asked what he could bring to the group. In the same vein, I tend to maintain a cool demeanor and a level head.
Yewande Biala vs. Tanya Manhenga
Tanya, a 22-year-old social media star on the rise, and Yewande, a star on Love Island in 2019, share more than just physical similarities.
Before Yewande moved into the villa and started college at age 16, she had already established herself as a scientist. Tanya is not only an Instagram influencer with over 11,500 followers but also a biomedical science student at a prestigious university.
Tanya answered, when I was asked why I wanted to go on Love Island: “I’m looking for a boyfriend and I think being in a Villa with lots of different people will help me work out who it is I may want.”
India Reynolds and Anna-May Robey
Maya Jama is “naturally nervous” about her Love Island debut because she has “big boots to fill,” according to a source.
Anna-May Robey, a payroll assistant, looks strikingly similar to India Reynolds, a co-star of the 2019 series and a fan favorite, with her long brown hair and dimples.
Anna, 20, has been single for “quite a while,” so she is on the hunt for a partner who can make her laugh again.
Her explanation continued as follows: “my mother is bugging me, she’s like, ‘You need to find a boyfriend.’ I’m just excited to try something new and I think going on Love Island is a good way to meet someone.”
Toby Radnedge and Charlie Young
Despite entering as a bombshell, Charlie was not successful in attracting females with his worm last year. Perhaps Will, Charlie’s blonde haired double, will have better luck.
Will, a farmer from Birmingham who, like Charlie, sports a quiff, is excited to take some time away from his animals to focus on love.
Will answered frankly when asked why he is not in a relationship: “Probably commitment issues. I self sabotage myself sometimes when I’ve got a good thing going. I do like my own space and my own time; I haven’t got to stress about anything and just worry about myself.”
