The Bucks are close to completing a deal for Crowder, according to NBA insider Matt Moore of the Action Network. The Houston Rockets, on the other hand, proved to be a stumbling block in what would have been a Milwaukee coup:
“Milwaukee was reportedly close to a deal with the Phoenix Suns for Jae Crowder, but the third team in the deal, the Houston Rockets, wanted more draft compensation. League sources said they would not be surprised to see another iteration of the deal go through before the deadline,” Moore wrote.
It is unclear what the Bucks will have to give up to bring Crowder to Milwaukee, but it is clear that they will have to part ways with some significant assets.
It’s no surprise that the rebuilding Rockets are demanding draft picks, and it appears that the Bucks will have to give Houston what it wants if this three-team deal is to go through.
Jae Crowder also has a slew of suitors from around the league, so you can bet that the Suns will extract as much value as they can from this trade, whether it comes from the Bucks or not.
