Limited Edition The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch OLED Console Leaked
Despite the fact that Tears of the Kingdom is still at least 5 months away, images of what appears to be the limited edition Switch OLED have leaked. These images were posted on the social media forum Tieba, which has apparently leaked previous limited edition Switch consoles as well, with the gold Joy-Con controllers sporting green and white decorations from the game being the most notable.
This is by no means a confirmation that Tears of the Kingdom will receive its own limited edition OLED Switch, but the images appear to be genuine. Along with major releases, Nintendo has released a slew of special edition Switch consoles. Tears of the Kingdom is probably the biggest Nintendo game to come out since Breath of the Wild, so it isn’t too far-fetched to assume it will get a limited edition Switch model.
Tears of the Kingdom appears to be on track for a May 2023 release date, not only because of the leaked special edition Switch, but also because it was recently rated in Korea and by the ESRB. This means that the game is almost ready for players to play. It remains to be seen whether or not this special edition Switch is genuine, but no matter how real it appears, it should be taken with a gracious grain of salt.
