Many players are on the rise after Week 2 despite numerous issues with their team. Despite the fact that it is early in the season, the NFL’s star-studded rosters are already faced with injuries and postponements. Some of these players are worth a shot in fantasy football, so add or claim these rising stars. Here the list list of five waiver wire targets such as Noah Brown, Gerald Everett, etc.
The Top 5 NFL waiver wire targets
To be eligible for this list, a player must be available in at least 50% of fantasy leagues. Depending on the size of your fantasy league, you may have better or worse options than those listed here.
- Corey Davis, New York Jets
Davis received ten targets in Week 1 and caught six of them for 77 yards. He also scored a crucial 66-yard touchdown in the Jets’ Week 2 game against the Browns. He is currently available in nearly 96% of fantasy leagues, making him an easy pickup who could become a breakout participant.
- Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Chargers
So amazing that Everett is now the TE4 this early in the season. He caught three passes for 54 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. Everett increased his fantasy production by seeing 10 targets in Week 2. He caught six of them for 71 yards. He appears to be a solid tight end option, but he may not be around later in the season.
- Breshad Perriman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Perriman hasn’t exactly stood out in the first two weeks, but a slew of injuries to the Buccaneers’ receiving corps could significantly boost Perriman’s stock. Mike Evans has been out with an injury and has been suspended for one game. Julio Jones has also been dealing with a knee injury and has missed significant time in his career. This leaves Breshad Perriman as one of the top receiving options.
He had three catches for 45 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. Those figures should rise as him rises through the ranks of Tampa Bay’s offense.
- Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders
Thomas had three receptions for 45 yards in Week 1 and three more (one touchdown) for 37 yards in Week 2. He only has 11 goals in two games, but Carson Wentz may look to use the dependable him more frequently.
With Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Curtis Samuel in the Washington receivers’ room, Thomas will almost certainly struggle to see many targets. However, he is still available in over 80% of leagues and could emerge as a feasible choice later in the season.
- J.D. McKissic, Washington Commanders
McKissic does not see nearly enough rushing volume, but his value in the passing game makes him a waiver wire target. When the Captains fell behind early in Week 2 against Detroit, McKissic had seven catches for 54 yards.
Because the Captains aren’t the best team, they’ll be chasing points and relying on the receiving game a lot. Fortunately, they have plenty of receiver targets, but McKissic is always available out of the backfield to mix things up. Over Antonio Gibson, he primarily plays on third downs and passing plays, so he gets a fair share of targets that he can convert into big gains.
