Famed fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg has dished out compliments to Britain’s most iconic style stars. The designer reveals she has only met model Kate Moss once but was impressed with her. She also has “a lot of respect” for singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham, because she can see she has worked hard to build her fashion empire and make herself successful, while also being a mother and wife:
“I only met Kate once. She said, ‘I want to be you when I grow up.’ I said, ‘You already are!’ I love her because she is herself. I have a lot of respect for Victoria because she works hard and is really serious about her fashion career. She is a devoted mother, a devoted wife, she is extremely serious about her work… She has made it all a success.”
Diane also praised Kate Middleton for her style and thinks it’s great to see her simply being herself in the public and not caving to the pressure of the spotlight: “I love the Duchess of Cambridge. She is herself, which is what I like about everybody. Be true to yourself because if you are, there is no misunderstanding. And the queen is above compare…”
Speaking on reality star Kim Kardashian, Diane says she did cross paths with Kim and was surprised by what a nice person she was, and thinks she is a “good girl” who gets such a huge amount of attention:
“When someone gets so much attention… I only met her once and I was surprised at how lovely she was. I don’t judge her style and everyone does the best they can. She is a good girl and a young girl with an enormous amount of exposure; she lives her life and travels her journey and if she makes mistakes she will learn from them like everyone else.”
