Lady Gaga
Gaga claims that she pours any money she makes back into her shows: “Some artists are working to buy the mansion or whatever the element of fame must bear, but I spend all my money on my show.”
Johnny believes everything would be compromised if money was thought about too much: “If you have (money) in your head while you’re making a movie the process would become something very different.”
Joss doesn’t mind if her music gets pirated and she misses out on sales, as long as people are enjoying what she creates: ”To be honest, I don’t care about the money. I don’t care about people getting music for free as long as they are listening. What bothers me is if people are listening to bad-quality recordings of music. The bootleg version of my album has the worst sound quality. That kills me. You work really hard, you get everything absolutely right and you want people to hear this sound you have created – the real thing – not a bad version of it. It has to be the real thing.”
Leonardo says he has never thought about how much money he makes from each project: “Throughout my career, I never knew which movies of mine made money and which didn’t. When Titanic came out, people would say, ‘Do you realize what a success this is?’ And I’d say, ‘Yeah, yeah, it’s a hit.’ The [money] stuff never mattered to me until I was into my thirties and got interested in producing. But even now I say that unless you want to prove that you can carry a film with your name, continuously trying to achieve box-office success is a dead end.”
Paris says she has both fame and riches but could be happy with nothing: “I have both, and it doesn’t even make any difference. I could be happy if I had nothing. So it’s not, it’s not really about money to me.”
