They’ve been through a lot in their lives – they’ve made career or personal mistakes, battled drug addictions and much more – yet these celebrities wouldn’t change a thing and live with no regrets. Believing that the tough parts make you who you are, they wouldn’t switch the negative for a positive because they believe they learned so much from their stumbles. Leaving the past behind them, they prefer not to dwell on what has already gone before and are more future focused. Staying upbeat despite some bad life experiences, these stars have a great attitude and don’t feel the need to regret or feel sad about something that hasn’t worked out perfectly in the past.
Elton John
Elton has been through a lot, including drug addiction, but says he doesn’t regret anything: “I’ve had a great career, but f***ed up my private life doing drugs. I’m too old for regrets: everything that happened was for a reason – even the bad times. The trials and tribulations were my fault. I’ve managed to transcend the bad stuff. I’ve been sober for 20 years and it’s been the best time of my life. I’m a better person – forget the career. That has nothing to do with it. I’m very happy. It’s taken a lot of work, but with the love I receive from my partner David Furnish and friends, it’s the best life I could possibly have imagined.”
Katy doesn’t believe in regrets because you learn from mistakes: ”People always ask me, ‘What is it that you regret?’ And I say, ‘nothing, because I could not buy what I’ve learned.’ And I apply those things to my life I learn. And hopefully, hopefully it helps me to be a better human in the future and make better choices.”
MacAulay wouldn’t change a thing because all of his mistakes make him who he is today: “I wouldn’t trade any of my experiences for anything in the world. I’m very happy with who I am, and where I’ve ended up and I wouldn’t change one thing. Because if you change one thing in the past, everything else is different.”
Nicolas wouldn’t change a thing: “I have no regrets. I feel I have lived in many ways. I have already put more than one life in my 46 years. I feel I have become different people. I have gone through changes and it continues to be exciting.”
Scarlett doesn’t waste time on regrets: “I don’t believe in having any regrets. It’s a waste of time to regret anything. I own all of my decisions, and I’ve led a very charmed life up until this point. I’ve had ups and downs. Certainly, this past year has had a lot of unexpected things in many beautiful ways, many challenging ways.”
