What do you actually do when you bring an Oscar home? If your a Gwyneth Paltrow type, you’d probably put it in a big trophy case with everything else, but really, it’s quite useless. It’s a paper weight, a pretty doorstop, or for the very creative, a jewelry holder? Well, according to Oscar-winning actress, she “felt odd” seeing her award lying around the house and just couldn’t decide what to do with it. She continuously moved it around and ended up placing it where guests were less likely to bump in to it until her parents thought it would be better to take it to her family home:
“My parents took it back to Kentucky, ‘cos I felt odd having it, like, on display in my house. If anybody’s coming over to my house, I didn’t want them to remember that. Just kind of puts a weird energy out.”
Jennifer admits she hid the top award away by a bathroom in her house and her mother thought it would look better on her piano, so that’s where it is now instead:
“I put it in the hallway towards the bathroom, and my mum was like, ‘I’m taking it. It shouldn’t be here’. And now it’s on a piano in Kentucky!”
