No one said being famous was easy, but when your living out you dreams, and have more money than the average person could dream of, you’d better keep your trap shut about how terrible it is to be followed by the paparazzi or be splashed across the front of every magazine, because it could definitely be a whole lot worse. Still, these 6 stars feel they need to tell the world just how bad being famous can be.

Brian Austin Green
Brian Austin Green may have been famous back in his 90210 days, but nothing compared to when girlfriend Megan Fox made it big and the paps began to follow the couple’s every move. He commented: “It wasn’t so much of a problem before Megan, but once Transformers hit, that was it, I had never experienced paparazzi on that level, because during 90210 they were still developing pictures and selling them by hand. It was a whole different experience. I hated being famous during 90210. I’m not an extrovert. I’m 37. I have a beautiful wife. I have an amazing 8-year-old son. I love acting, but this is just my job.”
Russell Crowe
Russell Crowe says that being famous was just something that happened over his career, but not something he wants. He also calls out the media for making up stories: “Some people believe celebrity is a power that should be used, ultimately, your dollars are more powerful. I’m famous for making movies. Celebrity just happens to be an unfortunate byproduct of what I do. Whatever used to be called mystery, you’re not allowed to have that anymore. So there’s a whole bunch of blank space that’s filled in with stuff that fills up pages of newspapers. Which is not real, and you know it’s not real, and I know it’s not real. And readers don’t really care because that’s what they’re interested in.”
Robert Pattinson
As his career took off, Robert Pattinson said that he felt it was hard to mentally deal with his sudden fame: “It worries me, because the whole Twilight thing keeps getting bigger and bigger, and now it’s so big that even my own ego can’t cope with it…A certain amount of success you can mentally deal with, but there’s a point where you think, ‘Jesus Christ, what is this? I’m not that great!’”
Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp isn’t interested in being a part of celebrity culture – he just wants to make good films: “I don’t want to be a product…Of course you want the movies to do well. But I don’t want to know … who’s hot now and who’s not and who’s making this much dough and who’s boffing this woman or that one. I want to remain ignorant of all this. I want to be totally outside and far away from all of it.”
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston doesn’t get why people buy into the silly stories: “It’s embarrassing that people are focused so much and putting so much money into gossip magazines to escape, the paparazzi and the magazines deserve their share of the blame, but they’re just supplying a demand. It’s unfortunate that people don’t care that they’ve been lied to, they don’t care that they’re being sort of messed with and not given the full truth. They buy them anyway.”
Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford isn’t fond of the loss of privacy that comes with fame: “You always think, ‘If I’m successful, then I’ll have opportunities.’ You never figure the cost of fame will be a total loss of privacy. That’s incalculable. What a burden that is for anybody. It was unanticipated and I’ve never enjoyed it. You can get the table you want in a restaurant. It gets you doctor’s appointments. But what’s that worth? Nothing.”
