For his upcoming part as Hercules, The Rock was forced to stick to a protein rich diet and had to take in 6000 calories a day: ”In terms of training, it all depends on what I’m doing that day. It all depends on what the goal is. Right now I’m prepping for ‘Hercules’ so the diet is a crazy diet. I eat six to seven times a day. A lot of it is fish or carbohydrates. It’s so boring!”
Superman star Henry Cavill had to go on a dramatic diet for the role which involved bulking up: ”[There was] a horrible eating phase … Where we really, really leaned down. It was exhausting. They didn’t force me to give anything up. They just cut my calories right down to 2,500 [a day]. And keep in mind, only a few months ago I’d been up to 5,000. So it was a big drop … It was hard but it paid off … [Once it was over] I had an apple pie, a tub of ice cream and a full pizza.”
When trying to lose weight, Jonah tried out a Japanese diet which he found very effective: “It was just mostly diet. I wish there was some crazy thing that I did, like a pill or a genie or something. But I went to see a nutritionist and he told me what to eat to change my habits and stuff. I found that Japanese food was very helpful to me.”
Mischa swears by a juice diet when she wants to drop a few pounds: ”I’ve never been on a fad diet, but I’ve been juicing for years and I love it. Juice gives me energy and fills me up when I don’t have time to eat other things. You get so many nutrients so quickly out of it. I strongly believe in those things, like the health benefits of juicing with cayenne pepper.”
Snoop had difficulties with his Rastafarian diet because he didn’t want to give up pork: “Me and porky pig, we agree with each other. You gotta understand, I was fed this s**t from a baby. I believe I was eating meat from six months old. My mama said a n**ga knew how to chew early – threw down that bottle fast, said, ‘Hand me some of that meat!'”
