Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana stirred up a huge amount of controversy in a recent interview when they commented that gay men shouldn’t have children and they also said that kids created through IVF are “synthetic children”. Now, many stars have responded, disgusted with this attitude. Elton John was one of the first to hit back, beginning a boycott against the designers. Courtney Love
Courtney said she felt like burning all of her Dolce & Gabbana clothing: “Just round up all my Dolce & Gabbana pieces, I want to burn them. I’m just beyond words and emotions. Boycott senseless bigotry!”
Elton John
Elton began a boycott and spoke about how shocked he was: “How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic’? And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children.”
Ricky Martin
Ricky think the designers must hate themselves for having this opinion: “Your voices are too powerful to be spreading so much hate. Wake up, it’s 2015, love yourselves guys.”
Ryan Murphy
Ryan was horrified by the remark: “This is not just a gay issue. I know 10 women in my life who used IVF to conceive, and three (are) doing it right now. IVF is a scientific miracle that helps loving families fulfil their dreams. To tell them their choices as women – anyone’s choices on family – are not embraced, well, I don’t think they’ll be traipsing off to a Dolce & Gabbana store to buy clothes anytime soon. It’s so ignorant of Dolce & Gabbana to speak out with such ugly evil. What they said is a not-modern thing to say. There are all kinds of families today.”
