Steering clear of illegal substances, these 5 celebrities have all commented that they’ve never even experimented with any kind of drug. Some say they’ve just never been curious, while others admit they’ve had to turn down offers of drugs in the past and know how bad things can be for those who do go down that road. Many stars have died because of drug related causes and these smart stars are avoiding a similar fate by never even trying out drugs in the first place. After the recent death of ‘Glee’ actor Cory Monteith, drug deaths are once again something we’re all forced to think about and these celebrities are all keen to never have such a tragic end due to an addiction they just can’t control.
Beyonce
In order to play legendary singer Etta James, Beyonce decided to find out what drug addiction was like as she researched her role and admitted that she’s never touched a drug in her life: “I said, ‘I have to do this movie’ – but I was terrified. I never tried drugs in my life so I didn’t know about it all. It was hard to go to rehab. I learned a lot about life and myself.”
Blake Lively
Blake doesn’t drink and says she’s never tried any drugs: ”I don’t drink. I’ve never tried a drug. The music is so loud, you can’t have a conversation with somebody. If I were an amazing dancer, yeah, I’d go, but I’m definitely not. My friend calls me a speed walker because my elbows are everywhere. It’s not like I decided on these strict lifestyle choices and I’m enforcing them. It’s just something that I genuinely don’t have a desire for.”
Leonardo DiCaprio
Leo grew up knowing how bad drugs can be and has always avoided them as a result: “I knew drugs were bad, even as a little kid. Seeing the effects that drugs had on my block, seeing heroin addicts, it made me think twice about ever getting involved in drugs. I was so horrified by what I saw drugs do to people that I never wanted anything to do with them. It’s evil. Once you take that step and experiment, drugs take over your life. You are not yourself any more. That’s something I never wanted.”
Pixie Lott
Pixie admits she has been offered drugs but isn’t interested: “I don’t feel scared or worried that I’ll get involved in that, because I have such great family, friends and management. I’ve already been in situations where I was offered drugs, and if I wanted to do it, I would at least have tried it by now. But it’s never interested me. I was offered cocaine and ecstasy, and I just never bothered to try them.”
Tina Fey
Tina hasn’t ever done drugs because she isn’t curious: “(I’ve never tried drugs) not even a puff. I lack a certain amount of curiosity. I get the idea of not wanting to be where you are, especially on a movie set. It’s so boring between set-ups. I do sometimes think, ‘No wonder people go to their trailers and take drugs – there’s so much downtime.'”
