- Kate Bosworth
Kate likes a very toned down makeup look: “In terms of make-up, I definitely believe less is more In general, I keep it quite simplified. For lips, I like a stain, like the Tarte LipSurgence stains or the stains from By Terry. Some people like to just throw on some lipstick, like my mom, for example. But I like to work things in a little bit more and allow it to feel more lived-in, which is what you get with a stain. I like things a little bit…not messy, but something that feels like who you are, that moves with you…that it-doesn’t-have-to-be-perfect kind of thing.”
Katie’s mother taught her to just highlight what she has subtly: “My mother, Kathleen, is a decorator. She’s always told me that looking natural is the most beautiful. Make-up should make us refine our beauty. The creative side of the job is really fun and I discovered that the responsibilities that go hand-in-hand with it could also be fascinating.”
- Olivia Wilde
Olivia prefers to draw attention to one key feature when creating a makeup look: “I would never do a bold lip and a bold eye. It can be done well but I know I have exaggerated features, like a big jaw, so it just doesn’t work for me. It’s not a bad thing. It’s just a family trait and, as I’ve got older I’ve learned how to work it. Either go bold on the lips, eyes or with something you’re wearing.”
