Angelina doesn’t want her kids to just act and would like them to do something valuable: “We’ve always said, if they want to act, we won’t let them only act, because it’s not enough. They’ll have to find a real job at the same time. But I’m hoping that when they see all the other things in the world, they’ll be inspired to be writers, politicians, activists. They are very individual people. So I imagine they’re not going to follow their mum and dad.”

Doutzen Kroes

Doutzen hopes her daughter won’t be a model: “Instead of saying, ‘You’re so beautiful,’ I’ll say, ‘You’re smart,’ so she’ll have different aspirations in life than beauty and modelling. Though I love my job, I’m not changing the world. I’d love for her to study and to have different aspirations. We need to teach girls they can become presidents, and it’s not about beauty all the time.”

Julia would not like her children to follow in her footsteps but would think over the situation: “You have to approach each child differently and each desire that they have different and it’s brought me an enormous amount of joy, my job, so I wouldn’t just dismiss it. But I think I would investigate it, especially if they were a child.”

Keira Knightley

Keira says she would discourage her children from acting: “I would 150 million trillion per cent be totally discouraging of (them) doing anything like that. I would say teenage years should be done privately. You should be going out and getting unbelievably drunk, getting into ridiculous situations, making mistakes. That’s what that time of life is about and we should do that privately, one million trillion zillion per cent.”

Mila Kunis

Mila wants her newborn daughter to follow a different career path: “I’m not really worrying about that now … However, if my kid could be a doctor or a lawyer that would be great because this industry is based on rejection. That’d the first thing you learn, the word ‘no’. My parents never wanted me to act. I was only allowed to keep doing it if I got straight As in school.”
