Although having cosmetic surgery – and other procedures to reduce the signs of ageing – is incredibly common in Hollywood, these 5 stars don’t want to go under the knife just to look younger and think it is more graceful looking to just age naturally. Some of these stars believe those who have botox end up looking bad in the end with limited expression, while others just think there is something beautiful about growing older and they want to embrace it rather than trying to look younger than their current age.
- Cameron Diaz
Cameron thinks looking older is very natural and shouldn’t be negative: “Everybody’s judging. And for me, I feel like… it’s almost as if we have failed if we don’t remain 25 for the rest of our lives. We are failures. It’s a personal failure, our fault, that at 40 years old, I don’t still look like I’m 25. Oh, I’m sorry, I apologise. I wasn’t able to defy nature.”
- Diane Kruger
Diane believes embracing ageing is the way to go: “I want to age gracefully and I don’t judge those who get injections. But we can’t age backwards, so you have to embrace it sometime.”
Gwyneth wants to age gracefully: “I know it’s a cliché, but I really do subscribe to the ‘age gracefully’ thing. You can fight it to a degree, but I accept the beauty of being a grown woman and the wisdom that comes with it.”
- Naomi Watts
While she doesn’t judge those who opt for surgery, Naomi thinks those who age naturally look better: ”I don’t have any judgement about [plastic surgery]; whoever makes that choice, that’s fine. It’s not easy watching yourself get older, but when I look at two women in their fifties or sixties or seventies side by side, one who’s had surgery and one who hasn’t, I think one likes themselves a lot more and one looks more dignified and graceful. And I hope I get to stay being that woman. But I would never say ‘never.’ ”
- Sharon Stone
Sharon thinks being young isn’t the only way to be beautiful: “This idea that being youthful is the only thing that’s beautiful or attractive simply isn’t true. I don’t want to be an ‘ageless beauty.’ I want to be a woman who is the best I can be at my age.”
