Nicole was grateful for the support she always had from her father and is honouring his memory: “He was the father that was on a plane, hours after I got divorced, to come and take care of me, staying with me for weeks for as long as I needed. He was also the father who would when I was crying always tell me ‘Nicki, it’s going to be Ok’… He was a man that was always there for me, a thinker, my confidant, my friend and my protector.”
Zoe lost her father at a young age and says it’s still painful:”I know the older I get I romanticise him more and more, but he was very beautiful and very disciplined. It was hard – since I was nine I’ve never been able to day ‘Dad’. And I’ve had a stepfather since I was very young who I adore and he knows how much we love him. But he’s not my dad. So when I hear little people day, ‘Daddy’, it’s always like a f***ing knife in your heart. And you always walk this earth with that broken little wing.”
