Some had their privacy compromised, while others were caught off guard when nude images of themselves were leaked to the public. Hackers are to blame for several of the nude image scandals which rocked these stars and left them feeling as though their privacy was gone forever. Tapping in to personal phones and laptops, images which should have never reached the public were unleashed and there was nothing these stars could do to stop it. Although some hackers have since been caught by police, it doesn’t change much for these stars who were exposed against their will. Others posed for nude images before their career took off and were surprised when the pics surfaced later on, while one of these celebs was caught stripping off at a party and brought the nude photo scandal on himself!
Matthew McConaughey
Matthew took part in a raunchy photo shoot before he became famous which wasn’t released until he became a big name: “I understood it. I went to the guy personally and said, ‘Man, I’m telling you, I’d rather you didn’t. Do you want us to do another photo shoot instead?’ He said, ‘No, I got to do this. I can make some money.’ I went, ‘OK, well.’ I shook his hand and said, ‘I’d rather you didn’t, but OK, go for it…’ And he put them out there.”
Prince Harry
Harry was snapped by a party-goer after he stripped off while partying in Las Vegas: “I probably let myself down, I let my family down, I let other people down, but it was probably a classic example of me being too much army, and not enough prince.”
Rihanna
When naked images of Rihanna leaked, she was upset about the privacy leak: “I was [freaked out], it was the worst thing that could possibly ever happen to me. I just felt like my whole privacy was taken before that [first photo leak] and then, when that came out, I thought, ‘Oh great, so now there’s nothing they don’t know about me and my private life. It was humiliating and it was embarrassing especially my mom having to see that, I was nervous [but] when the world is against me she’s always there supporting.”
Scarlett Johansson
A hacker pinched photos of Scarlett naked in images she made for her then husband Ryan Reynolds and she was shocked by the loss of privacy: “I think the question is kind of redundant, I think. Who doesn’t want to protect their own privacy? Just because you’re an actor or make films or whatever doesn’t mean you’re not entitled to your own personal privacy, if that is sieged in some way, it feels unjust. It feels wrong.”
Vanessa Hudgens
After private photos were hacked from Vanessa, the ‘High School Musical’ actress was left devastated to find nude personal pics on the internet: “I think it has made me stronger. But it still hurts. It sucks because (the photos were) supposed to be private.”
