Lucy would apply her grandmother’s lipstick: “My first beauty memory is as clear as day. My grandmother would take these naps in the afternoon, which meant I had free rein to make her house my kingdom. Instead of making a mess in the kitchen or binge watching a television show, I would always wait carefully outside her room for her to fall asleep, then beeline over to her makeup drawer. There, I would pick out the reddest red lipstick—it was this bright, cherry red color and so luxurious—and apply it in a ring around my lips.”
Milla was amazed by her mother’s beauty routine: “My first beauty memory goes back to when I was small, when I used to watch my mum get ready. My relationship with glamour started with her. It’s funny, because it is also this same glamorous world that used to take her away from me. When I’d see the make-up out, I’d know she was about to go out or go to work. I used to watch her put her make-up on, spray some perfume. I always found it fascinating.”
