Age is so often seen negatively, especially in Hollywood where so many stars seem to be desperately trying to roll back the clock and look as young as possible. Thankfully, some celebs have a refreshing view on getting older, saying that their lives just get better as the years go by. Some feel more confident, more sensual or just wiser, happier or more relaxed. Believing they’ve figured out life and are now in a happy place, these stars just think life continues to improve as time goes by.
Cameron Diaz
Cameron knows herself better and is excited about getting older: “I’m so excited. Getting older is the best part of life. Like, I know more than I’ve ever known. I have gratitude. I know myself better. I feel more capable than ever. And as far as the physicality of it, I feel better at 40 than I did at 25.”
Charlize thinks women are just blossoming later in life: ”It’s like we wilt for some reason. And men are like fine wines – the older they get, the better they get. It’s such a misconception, and it’s such a lost opportunity because that’s when I think women are really in the true moment of their sensuality. I think that women find their strength and power in their sexuality, in their sensuality within, [through] getting older and being secure within that.”
Halle feels more confident in herself: “A magical thing happened when I turned 40—a light sort of went off, and I felt more self-assured and confident, like I finally had the right to be authentic about who I am, to say what I want to say. I guess that comes with getting older.”
Jennifer believes life is just improving and she’s enjoying it: “I’m a little bit of a late bloomer! But it doesn’t matter to me because it just gets better. They do say youth is wasted on the young, but I feel just as youthful now, if not more, than I did when I was 25. I’m more in my body; I’m more in my mind. Life is full. Life is wonderful. We’re very, very fortunate.”
Jennifer thinks the best is yet to come: “I seriously feel like the best days are ahead, and I like the idea of getting to do everything I did before but with more knowledge, experience, and street smarts. There’s a certain love, appreciation, and gratitude that you have at 40 that you don’t have when you’re younger, and it makes every accomplishment feel so much better.”
