Boxing is a great way to work out and allows you to also release a lot of emotions in the process, leaving you feeling de-stressed and happy. It’s a fun way to get moving and these 5 celebrities say they love to stay in shape by boxing it out, often working with a trainer to make the most of their workout. Here is what they’ve said about getting fit by boxing.
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda likes her body to look strong and mixes boxing with weight training: “When I’m not working too hard I try to see a trainer twice a week. I do weight training, a bit of boxing and running at the gym. I aim for that ‘strong not skinny’ look.”
Ellie loves to let out pent-up aggression through boxing: ”Boxing is very animalistic, and there’s a lot of adrenaline in it. It has helped my stamina. When I’m onstage, I feel like I could go on forever. I’ve been told I should spar and train for real because I seem to have a bit of a talent for it – but I’d rather go on tour with my face intact.”
Gigi says boxing is the only way she works out: “I only box. It’s the only thing that keeps me sane. I can’t just go to the gym and run. I’d rather die. I played volleyball and rode horses my entire life so just like moving to a city and having to go the gym was just like so weird for me. And boxing was the first thing where I felt like I wanted to go the gym and get better at it and like improve. It’s kind of like all the guys there are my big brothers and yesterday, I just went and lay on the floor and talked to them while they were training everyone.”
Gisele does many activities to stay fit including boxing: “The body is a temple. I enjoy moving. I don’t play much volleyball anymore, but I ride horses, surf and play beach tennis. I play wherever I am. Kung fu, boxing, yoga, Pilates…It makes me feel alive. If I don’t move my body, I don’t feel good.”
LeAnn loves to box and she also does Pilates: “I’ve learned to enjoy it. I’ve learned to find workouts that I really enjoy. I do everything from boxing to Pilates. I think it’s about consistency. Really, for me, it’s so hard to work out when I’m on the road because it’s like you’re in a different city every night and you’re trying to find the energy or the time, or whatever it may be.”
