Miley Cyrus has been shaking up her image big time recently: if she’s not twerking with a teddy bear, she’s lighting up on stage or commenting on being the world’s biggest feminist. Yep, she’s trying really, really hard to keep our attention and it’s working so far as she pushes herself to make headlines (at least that’s what it seems like!). These 5 celebrities are worried that Miley will eventually end up in rehab or will harm herself in some way because of the immense pressure of being in the spotlight or simply because she seems to enjoying partying hard regularly. It’s easy to see why these stars might be concerned and they’ve all publicly spoken on why they’re worried for Miley, each with their own reason.
Demi Lovato
Friend Demi is concerned about her partying habit: “She knows how I feel about the whole partying thing, I love her to death and I’m always like, ‘Just be careful’ and she’s like, ‘Dude, I’m chilling. It’s fine.’ But I care for her so much that I’m so protective, but she’s good. She’s got a good head on her shoulders.”
Dolly Parton
Dolly is worried about how Miley is behaving: “Hopefully she didn’t get that from me because I certainly never encouraged her to do any of that… I think she’s just in a cross – she’s just kind of in a crosswinds trying to overcome the ‘Hannah Montana’ little girl, and trying to become a young woman. I don’t know if she’s surrounded by people that are helping her to not make the wise decisions…”
Elton John
Elton believes she’s headed for trouble: ‘I look at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen. And she’s so young. But she’s got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her.’
Robbie is worried how fame might get to her: “Miley’s got the world talking and looking at her. And the spotlight that’s now upon her is rehab-making. It has a detrimental effect on your psyche. I’ve had a similar light shine on my direction and it f**ks you up – for a long time. She’s just a kid. She’s a kid who looks as though she’s rebelling against her father (Billy Ray Cyrus) and rebelling against the industry that put her in a Hannah Montana-shaped box.”
Sinead O’Connor
Irish singer Sinead wrote Miley an open letter to voice her concerns: ”I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way ‘cool’ to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos. Women are to be valued for so much more than their sexuality. We aren’t merely objects of desire. I would be encouraging you to send healthier messages to your peers.. that they and you are worth more than what is currently going on in your career.”
