These 5 stars are all against the use of fur, and some of them have even gone naked for one of PETA’s famous ‘I’d rather go naked than wear fur’ campaigns, stripping off to raise awareness for the cause. They have all raised their voice over the matter which is close to their hearts, and while some have lashed out at individuals who do wear fur, others just say they don’t see the reason why anyone would wear fur and feel that fur is cruel to the animals they love so much.
Elisabetta Canalis
Elisabetta decided never to wear fur after watching a documentary on the subject: “I was watching TV at home and they showed a documentary and in the documentary I saw how they killed little animals, like electrocuting them, drowning them, bludgeoning them. I was shocked because I was a little girl, but by that moment I thought that I would never, never, never, wear fur in my life.”
Pink
Pink has taken aim at Kanye West for his love of fur: “Kanye West is the person p**sing me off right now. I was at Stella MCCartney’s Paris fashion show with the vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Paul MCCartney and Kanye West. The entire time Kanye is going, ‘They need more fur in this show’. He just wouldn’t shut up about how he loved fur. I mean, he’s saying this to me, the PETA guy and Paul McCartney! I was just so grossed out by him. I’m like, ‘You’re an idiot!'”
Natalie Imbruglia
Natalie doesn’t understand why anyone would want to wear real fur when there is faux alternatives: “There is no kind way to rip the skin off animals’ backs. Anyone who wears any fur shares the blame for the torture and gruesome deaths of millions of animals each year. Saving animals is as simple as choosing synthetic alternatives instead of real fur.”
Lea Michele
Glee star Lea Michele also doesn’t know why anyone would want to wear fur: “With so many fashionable, cruelty-free options available, there’s really no excuse for wearing someone else’s coat.”
Eva Mendes
Eva Mendes will never wear fur after discovering the kind of cruelty animals can suffer: “Millions of animals are killed for their pelts each year… I didn’t always know how animals were killed for their fur, and I even wore fur once myself. When I learned how cruel the fur industry is – and that there are no laws protecting these animals – I swore that I’d never wear it again. Please join me today as we go behind the scenes of the international fur trade, and find out how you can look glamorous without supporting animal suffering.”
