Alexa Chung
Alexa’s tips are to pay attention to your outfit and delete the rejected photos immediately: “What outfit do you have on? Have you remembered trousers? .. Maybe you’re in a dressing gown? (that’s fine) .. Once you’re happy with your (selfie) outfit, Go find a mirror. There are two ways to compose this shot: You can either hide your face behind the camera or, if you’re having a good day, peek out from behind it. .. Please don’t look directly into the lens …This has to look organic and natural. You can keep trying as many times as you like, no-one will know (unless they scroll through your photos and you’ve forgotten to delete the rejects) Which leads to the next step – Delete the process.”
Anna says she’s cool with people who snap naked selfies but thinks having a clean room is important: “Listen, naked selfie your life away. Go do your thing. But clean your room.”
Georgia advises to hold the phone up high and catch some sun: “Well, my mom’s always like, ‘Hold [the phone] higher,’ like all the people used to do on Myspace. Ideally, you want to be in direct sunlight; then you don’t really even need a filter.”
Kylie says some good lighting makes a big difference: “It’s all about good lighting, usually by a window with diffused light, and finding your best angles. You can always erase, so just take a bunch. I like the sun coming in behind me or from the side.”
Rihanna says it’s all about flaunting what you want to show off: “Get a good light … Get a good angle on what’s working for you that day … If it’s boobs, make sure you hit that. If it’s face, make sure it’s fierce.”
