It’s no surprise that not everyone enjoys their high school experience and many finish up their days of schooling just glad to finally be free. Some were bullied or didn’t get on with the people in their class, while others simply didn’t get to be themselves or hated feeling constrained by the strict rules at their school. Here are 5 celebrities who all say they didn’t enjoy their time in high school!
Diane Kruger
Diane always wanted to rebel while in school: “I think everybody has childhood problems, issues, whatever. I was angry when I was a teenager. I just really hated school and the Catholic bit was part of that. Just the suppression and everything being so proper.”
Jennifer hated school and was treated badly by her peers: ”My advice to my younger self would be Don’t worry about the b*****s. When you look back and see how much time you spent trying to get people to like you and trying to dress cool, you realise it doesn’t matter. I changed schools a lot when I was younger because the girls were mean. One gave me invitations to hand out to a party I wasn’t invited to. I hated school. I hated being inside, I hated being behind a desk. School just kind of killed me.”
Kristen Stewart
Kristen was happy when she got to leave school because she didn’t get on with anyone her own age: “I was glad to leave school. I couldn’t relate to kids my own age. They are mean, they don’t give you a chance. I think the social aspects, I haven’t missed out on. I am around people constantly. I meet hundreds of people at work. Once you have done with school, you realised it’s just a smaller version of life.”
Other girls weren’t nice to Megan during her school years: “At school I was not ever – for a second – popular. I mean never. Everyone hated me and I was a total outcast. My friends were always guys. I have a very aggressive personality and girls didn’t like me for that.”
Naomie Harris
Naomie was bullied in school and hated the experience: “I hated school. I didn’t want to go to school. I don’t know why I was bullied. I was quite shy and skinny. Very nerdy and very bookwormish. I think I was just a target.”
