Chris has been amazed at his own success and never thought it would happen: “You know, I feel like, jeez, it’s been cool, it’s been really cool. I came to Hollywood expecting to do everything but not really knowing what that looked like, so I was just as excited when I got my first commercial as I am now, you know what I mean? I have enjoyed this entire journey, the whole time I have been at this for 15 years. My enthusiasm has been turned up to 10 since about 2001 when I didn’t have to be a waiter anymore.”
Emilia Clarke
Emilia never thought ‘Game of Thrones’ would take off as it did: “Never in a million years did I think Game of Thrones was going to take off like it did. It’s taken me five years to catch up with it. I’m still not sure I’m there.”
George Lucas
George has always been focused on just doing what he loves and didn’t expect anything to come from it: “My motivation has always been just doing what I want to do and making a movie that I think will be interesting, and that’s just been the way I’ve done it my whole life. I never expected to be successful – it’s just one of those things that happened. It happened that the stuff I like everybody else liked.”

Kerry thinks it is a miracle she even lands roles: “It’s a miracle to even work in this industry. I didn’t become an actress to be on the cover of magazines. That was always a little scary to me. What I love about acting is the craft of becoming different people and telling a story.”
Taylor says she was driven to succeed because she didn’t think she would without putting in the effort: “The reason I was so driven was that I didn’t expect that anything would just happen for me. But that doubt fueled me to work harder. My attitude was the opposite of people who are like, “It’s gonna happen for me. It’s gonna happen for me.” My mantra was always, “It’s not gonna happen for me. Go out and play that show or it won’t happen.” You know? I never expected anything to be given to me.”
