5 Celebrities Talk About the Benefits of Breastfeeding

It is so often said that “breast is best” when it comes to feeding newborns, and these 5 celebrities all believe strongly in feeding their new child the natural way. From bonding to helping the new mom lose weight, breastfeeding has numerous benefits other than the obvious health perks. These 5 stars all admit that they enjoy breastfeeding, stating that it makes them feel more womanly, and many of them wish that more women would try it because they feel it is so important not to feed babies chemical food at such a young and vulnerable age.

Beyonce

Beyonce praises breastfeeding for helping her lose weight, while she also started working out: ”I lost most of my weight from breast-feeding and I encourage women to do it; it’s just so good for the baby and good for yourself. I counted calories. I worked out maybe three to four times a week. I did a lot walking in the beginning and now I’m running. But I had to work my way up. I couldn’t just go right from being pregnant to running.”

Miranda Kerr

Although Miranda knows everyone has to make their own mind up about it, she believes breastfeeding is so important and should be practiced by more: “Everyone has a right to choose what they feel is best for their own baby and some people cannot breastfeed and/or do not want to and I totally respect that each person has that right to choose… don’t abandon breast feeding because of any ‘social’ stigma (perceived or real) that might be attached to breastfeeding in public. Honestly, I for one can say there are more breasts being shown on a daily basis around the world in swimwear and low-cut dresses and tops than there are from breastfeeding mums. I intend to breastfeed for as long as I can. My breast milk will give our little Flynn the nutrition he needs for his continued healthy development.”

Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney loves the feeling of bonding and is happy it helps her body regain its shape again too: “I’m still loving it. I love the bonding time, love that it’s natural and what your body is made to do, love the benefits for his body and mine. I find it to be such an amazing womanly thing.”

Kelly Preston

Kelly loves how breastfeeding helps her feel close to her baby and has extra health benefits too:”When I stop, it’s going to be really hard on me. I love nursing so much. I love the closeness and knowing that I’m giving him the best as far as nutrients and antibodies. And he really loves it, too.”

Gisele Bundchen

Gisele stirred some controversy when she said “I think there should be a worldwide law that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months”. She later explained that she just want kids to be healthy: “My intention in making a comment about the importance of breastfeeding has nothing to do with the law. It comes from my passion and beliefs about children. Becoming a new mom has brought a lot of questions, I feel like I am in a constant search for answers on what might be the best for my child.”
