First love is always memorable – the happy moments, and the sad inevitable break-up too! These 5 celebrities have all spoken on how they feel about their first love. Some have fond memories of first kisses, while others feel as though their first love left a big impact on them because of the sadness they felt once the relationship ended. Others believe their first love was overrated because later on in life they saw things differently and aren’t sure if they really hate true love with that person in the end.
Ashton Kutcher
Ashton has a physical scar to remind him of his first crush: “I was 12. I had an air rifle, and there was this girl I really liked and I thought it would be romantic to give this girl this BB gun for Valentine’s Day. So I gave it to her and she shot me in the knee and I had to squeeze the pellet out and I still have the scar.”
Taylor Swift
Taylor thought she was in love for the first time in high school but her opinion has since changed: ”I dated a guy in high school for a while and I think that was, in a way, first love-ish. But then there’s the first time that you love someone more than you’ve ever loved anything, ever. That’s a different thing. Then there’s the time after that where you feel like you’ve loved a man more than anyone you ever loved in your life and that must be your first love because that must be the only time you’ve ever felt that kind of love. I think your life is full of first loves because every time you love someone new, you love them in a different way.”
Selena Gomez
Selena thought she had a first love, but now she isn’t so sure: “I maybe had a first love and had my heart broken, but reflecting on it, I don’t think that was love. I think that was just me being fifteen and going, “Oh my gosh! I know I’m in love. I’m going to marry him.” So I don’t think that was love. I think as I’m getting older and having more in-depth relationships, maybe I’ll experience it. At the moment, I don’t know, exactly, if I’ve been in love.”
Kristen Stewart
Kristen remembers the pain of her first experience with love:”Everybody says the first cut if the deepest. It’s so true. I don’t know if it’s because it’s the best love, but it’s the first that you remember. There is one boy that I will remember for the rest of my life, and I wouldn’t go as far as to say, ‘Oh I was in love with him and he broke my heart’. You hold on to that, just that first experience, it’s good to have and you should appreciate it, even if it hurts.”
Carey Mulligan
Carey believes it is overrated because it doesn’t mean so much when you look back: “I don’t think it’s overrated. I think in retrospect you probably see it differently. But at the time it is everything to you. It is the greatest feeling in the world. I think it’s only when you look back on things that you think maybe they were not as real as you believed or weren’t as significant. People get married when they’re 18 and spend their whole lives together. I think their greatest fear is that someone will see it as a fling because they were young and it didn’t mean anything.”
