5 Celebrities Who Say They Are Low Maintenance

These 5 stars don’t spend hours in hair and makeup every day – when they aren’t working, they like to keep things very low maintenance. Avoiding layers of foundation and hair treatments, these celebrities keep thing natural during the day and just wash their hair quickly or apply a very light layer of makeup before heading out the door. Some say they have become more low maintenance over the years because they have to look after their kids now, while others simply like to have a break from the full-on styling they usually have at work.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina simply doesn’t have the time to be fussy about her looks because of her kids: “I my life, I hardly brush my hair very often. I try to be as low-maintenance as possible because of my kids, so I can just get up and get ready and do things and not take too much time.” A friend of Angelina also reveals that she loves lip butter: “Angelina stockpiles the lip butter to preserve her to-die-for pout. She likes it because it also helps to freshen your breath and Angelina hates chewing gum.”

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda doesn’t spend much time on her beauty look: “I don’t even have a blow dryer because I don’t dry my hair. I probably flat iron my hair once every six months. I just started wearing blusher and realise how much more alive I look with it on. I wear heels, my legs are long and they’re the one part of my body I really like. Though I never wear heels on the weekend.”

Thandie Newton

Thandie likes to keep it simple but makes sure her products do their job: “If you’re low-maintenance, it’s really important that the stuff you do use really works. It’s all about multi-tasking. The kids have to be at school by 8.30 every day and I don’t want to look like I’ve just got out of bed so I wash my face and I put on Olay’s Total Effects Touch of Foundation. There’s a truth in that old ‘black don’t crack’ thing. But dark skin like mine gets very dry – you get these ashy deposits on your legs, so I’ve used moisturiser since the day I could walk.”

Rachel Weisz

Rachel doesn’t like to spend hours on her hair: “I’m a bit of a wash-and-go kind of girl. I don’t know how to blow-dry my hair, so I never do. I have naturally big, frizzy hair, so I normally have at least two or three hairbands on my wrist. I don’t mind not having the blow-dried look – I like a little frizz – and it’s back in fashion, thanks God.”

Leighton Meester

Leighton likes to wear minimal makeup on her day off: “I get serious make-up every day; it’s like playing dress-up! But it takes its toll because you’re being touched constantly. If I’m not working I’ll wear a tinted moisturiser. When it comes to my hair, I’m wash and go! When I want to look like I’ve made an effort I leave it down. When it’s up, people think you don’t want to show it off! It’s a good trick.”
