These 5 celebrities all find it hard to make friends and they all have a good explanation as to why. Some work so hard that they often neglect any friends they do have and don’t have the time to make new ones, while others find it hard to make friends because they have trust issues and take a long time to let someone in. Others believe that being famous makes friendship impossible because they don’t know who is true or simply trying to get on their good side. Often the star in question may end up feeling a little alienated and can’t get out because of the constant paparazzi so they just end up with a few close friends and spend most of their time with family who they know they can trust.
Amy Adams
Amy finds her work so draining that when she finally gets time off she just wants to stay at home and take the time to bond with her young daughter so friends are ruled out: “I don’t have a lot of friends or a social life. I’m a stay at home sort of person. I travel so much for work so when I get home I just want to stay there. We’re pretty ordinary. On Saturday I get up early and go to the grocery store – it’s empty then. Afterwards we usually do some sort of outing with Aviana. We try to have as much family time as we can.”
Angelina finds her stardom makes it difficult to have real friends so she often ends up spending lots of time with her family instead: “I’ll talk to my family. I talk to Brad; he wants to know as much as he can about these issues and every trip. He’s been here as well; he came with me after the earthquake. But I don’t know, I don’t have a lot of friends I talk to. He is really the only person I talk to.”
Beyonce finds it hard to make friends because she doesn’t know who is real: “Work is my drug. I’m not worried about having a breakdown. There are negative sides to fame, sure. It’s hard to find yourself when everyone tells you everything you do is excellent. It’s hard to stay humble, hard to make friends. It’s hard to know who is real. It’s also hard if you don’t have people you trust before you become famous.”
Milla admits that movie stars are often stuck with just having acquaintances and she only has a few real friends that she hangs out with: “I feel like movie stars don’t have many friends at all. They have acquaintances. I really only have a few friends. My regular life today is reading books, making dolls houses, sewing dolls with my daughter and barbecuing.”
Rosie is very cautious when it comes to making friends and so it takes her a long time to let people into her life: ”It takes me a long time to make friends, only because I travel a lot and I don’t trust easily. I’m cautious, that’s just something I’ve learnt. I’ve been burnt in many ways and you’re cautious about the people you’ll allow into your life and who you invest time in.”
