Some already have some children of their own and believe that adoption is also a great way to add to their family, while others haven’t had any kids yet and think it would be amazing to welcome a child via adoption, while they’re also open to having children of their own via their own pregnancy in the future. Looking forward to having a happy, big family, these celebrities all say they’re very open minded and interested in adopting kids who might be in need of a loving family some time in the future.
Anne Hathaway
Anne wants to start a family as soon as possible and is keen on adopting: ”I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was 16. I’m 30 and I want to have a family of a certain size. I’ll start with one healthy kid but I’d like to have a few naturally and adopt. I gotta get on it, you know? I’d like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special. I’ve had one goal in mind for the past 12 years, which is: get a movie, get a movie, get a movie. Now I might have to say: get a baby, get a baby, get a baby.”
Brooklyn Decker
Brooklyn is interested in adopting a disabled child: ”I want to adopt a baby with an intellectual disability one day. I mean, that’s in the distant future, but that’s always been a goal of mine. I mean, that’s in the distant future, but that’s always been a goal of mine. Unfortunately a lot of kids with intellectual disabilities are given up for adoption when they’re born because it’s a lot for their family.”
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer never considered adopting until she had an experience with children up for adoption which changed her mind: ”It’s funny because before the movie I never really thought about adoption, I just always wanted to have my own baby and I was so focused on that and it took me a while to have my own. But after the film and during the making of the film when I held those two little Ethiopian twins I fell in love instantly and I can see how somebody can do this, how it is so easy to embrace a child who has nothing. It’s a beautiful, selfless act of love and it’s something that you go, ‘OK, I understand these feelings, I get this. I almost took those babies home. I fell in love with those babies.”
Leona Lewis
Leona wants to adopt and isn’t sure if she’ll ever have her own through pregnancies: “My mum is a hero to me, that’s given me a very strong sense of family loyalty to those I trust. I will definitely adopt children. I’m not sure if I want my own.”
Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay says she wants to adopt her first child and hopefully have some herself too:”I love kids. But I want to adopt my first child, not just because it’s a trend or whatever, but I want to help a child and take one in and have it be my own. And then have some more myself … Either two or four.”
