An Oscar is obviously the Holy Grail of acting: it’s every actor’s dream to stand up, graciously accept the award and give a tear-jerking speech, always to be remembered for their performance. These 5 actors are all completely determined and some even confident that eventually they’ll get one of their own. Some have previously come close with a nomination, while others seem to be struggling to get to grips with their career right now but have high hopes for the future and feel the push to want to win. It’s the pinnacle of any acting career and these 5 stars all know it and want to have a big moment in the spotlight all to themselves.
Ashley Greene
In her future, Ashley ambitiously says she aims to win an Oscar:”[In five years time I hope to be] healthy and happy. Ideally my career will be extremely stable. I really don’t want to be here for a minute and then gone the next. In five years I wouldn’t be opposed to having a husband and thinking about kids. Okay, maybe 10 years for that! And I want to win an Oscar or an Emmy.”
Kellan confidently believes he will win one in the future, even if it takes him a long time, it’s his ultimate goal:”I want to act for the rest of my life. I’ll win an Oscar one day, but I’m in no rush to get there. I don’t care if that takes me 50 years, and I’m old. I just love what I do.”
Lindsay Lohan is focusing on her acting right now and says she isn’t interested in her love life because she wants to win an Oscar first:“I’m not focused on that yet. I want to do a ton of movies first. After I win an Oscar, I can start thinking about love.”
Although he’s previously been nominated, Mickey is still after a gold man of his own and won’t quit until he gets it: “I knew I wasn’t going to win the Oscar for The Wrestler before I even got there. I knew my reputation would precede me. It’s voted for by people from the movie business and in the past I’ve hacked them all off. I was good at that – it came easily to me. I stupidly said acting wasn’t a job for a real man. I threatened producers, raged at directors, forgot my agent’s name. I really burned my bridges. I’d love to have an Oscar, but don’t you worry – I’ll get mine. If I get the right part and set my mind to it, I will get one.”
Minnie believes she is deserving of an Oscar because of her past performances but it makes her even more determined to win one still: “I want to win an Oscar. I’m determined. I don’t care about being nominated, I just want to win!”
