Queen Bey has put on some impressive performances, has been photographed for ad campaigns and magazine covers, opened up in a documentary about her life, and will still release a new album and go on tour before next year rolls around. The Sound of Change Live
Beyoncé just announced that she will headline The Sound of Change Live concert this summer in London. The event, which is part of the Chime for Change campaign and is being backed by Gucci, will benefit charities that support women’s empowerment.

HBO Documentary
Life is But a Dream, the documentary that Beyoncé directed and executive produced, attracted a record number of viewers for HBO. The film, which premiered on February 16, gave viewers a look inside Beyoncé’s career, her relationship with her father, her marriage, and the birth of her first child. Beyoncé said she started working on the documentary about three years ago, but she felt the story wasn’t complete until her daughter was born. She thought now was the right time to open up, show her vulnerability, and share what she’s learned about all the connections in her life.
Presidential Inauguration Performance
Beyoncé sang the National Anthem at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. This wasn’t the first time the singer showed her support for the president. She performed at the Neighborhood Ball on the night of Obama’s 2009 Inauguration, while she and Jay-Z have hosted fundraisers for Obama and have attended many other events with the President and First Lady.
Super Bowl Halftime Performance
Beyoncé put on quite a performance during this year’s Super Bowl. Celebrities and regular viewers alike gushed about the amazing halftime show, during which Beyoncé was joined on stage by her former Destiny’s Child band mates. The 13-minute set was so good that Queen Bey may have caused a power outage – apparently her music was more important than the game!
Pepsi Campaign
Beyoncé’s deal with Pepsi was first revealed last year, but more official shots from the singer’s ad campaign for the company were revealed earlier this month. Beyoncé appears in promotional pictures with bleach blonde hair and wearing short blue shorts and a tight white top.
H&M Summer Campaign
Beyoncé unveiled another ad campaign this year too. The singer will serve as the face of H&M’s summer 2013 campaign. She also had a hand in designing the season’s collection, which she says will “explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements – fire, water, earth, and wind.”
GQ Cover
Beyoncé covered the February issue of GQ, which celebrated “The 100 Sexiest Women of the 21st Century.” The singer showed off her famous curves on the cover by wearing nothing but a cropped t-shirt, leopard print panties, and gold jewelry. She opened up about her confidence, her career, and her family during her interview with the magazine.
Vogue Cover
Beyoncé was also featured on the cover of the March 2013 issue of Vogue, which marked the second time she covered the magazine. She was photographed wearing many top designers for the issue and opened up in her interview about her HBO documentary and giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy.
New Music…With More To Come!
Beyoncé recently released her latest single, “Bow Down.” It’s facing criticism from some of her fellow famous faces, but we’re sure that won’t stop her from sharing more of her new songs. The rest of her next album is due out sometime this year! An alleged tracklist for the album leaked online earlier this month, but it’s likely not real. We’ll have to wait and see what tracks will be included on the album once it’s released.
World Tour Announcement
In addition to a new album, Beyoncé also announced tour dates for The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. She’ll perform overseas starting in April before kicking off the North American leg of the tour in Los Angeles in June and will wrap up with a performance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in August.
Fashion Obsession
Like most other stars, Beyoncé has always loved fashion and attracts plenty of attention for what she wears both onstage and off. This year has been no different. In the past few months, Queen Bey has racked up millions of followers on Instagram and has used the photo-sharing site to show off her incredible wardrobe. Beyoncé also had a pair of Isabel Marant sneaker wedges customized for herself this year. The “King Bey” sneakers are made of exotic materials including stingray, ostrich, crocodile, anaconda, and calf’s fur.
