Joe Simpson, creepy father and manager to daughter Jessica (and Ashlee too,) says his older daughter wants to go country. That’s right, country songs.

Simpson said:

“Everything in our business is about beats and I think she really wants to sing,” he said, “and country music still believes in that.”

I don’t doubt she could do it, after all, a lot of country isn’t so “country” these days.  But I just don’t think these pop singers can leave well enough alone, take a break and enjoy life.

    JS will be the next big thang in the hills as long as she is willing to do what her mother did, give birth. Otherwise there is no reason for her to exist.

    She’s going country because country is an easy sell and her pop career is pretty much dead.

    I find it interesting that he thinks Jess should move to country because pop is too beat driven and she really has a voice…yet his other daughter is releasing another pop record. Says it all, I guess, on whom he thinks is talented.

    He just really grates…as do the sibs.

    She’ll have a tough sell in country because she brings no credibility at all and it feels like a last ditch effort and therefore makes the country fans a pawn.
