Whitney Port’s Spring 2010 Collection

The City’s Whitney Port may be one of the rare celebrity-turned-designer success stories: she showcased her Whitney Eve Spring 2010 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in September 2009. There has been a great deal of buzz about the line lately because it will be in boutiques January 30th, and retails from $60 to $400. The collection consists of tailored blazers, flowy pastel jackets, and extremely short glitzy cocktail dresses.
Being known as the sweet nice girl on tv, does not necessarily translate through on her line. Whitney’s collection featured a lot of girlie, romantic pieces; but surprisingly had a somewhat edgy feel to them. Whitney’s inspiration for her collection was Alice in Wonderland going to a cocktail party. She told reporters “I wanted something really fun, wearable, but that you could easily go from day to night in. Something you wear to the office and then can dress up with heels to go out.”
