Victoria Beckham Breaks Down in Tears at Sporting Awards

Victoria and David Beckham both showed their emotion while at the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year ceremony in London on Sunday night. David was honored at the ceremony, presented with a a lifetime achievement award. The soccer star received a 2-minute long standing ovation from the crowd in attendance, which left the star in awe, while his wife Victoria was seen weeping with emotion. David made a speech while receiving the award, thanking all those who have helped him on his journey to success, including his family:

“I’ve been lucky enough to play with some of the great teams over the years. Playing for England has been one of the highlights and biggest things of my career. I’m sorry that I’m going on, but I really have to thank my parents, who have sacrificed so much over the years, my sisters, my grandparents, my family, my friends, other people who work with me and for me, and of course, I want to thank my wife and my children.”

He continued, specifically pointing out Victoria as his inspiration:

“Not only has she given me three amazing boys but the support she’s given me… she is truly an inspiration for me every single day. So Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz – thank you.”

After the awards show, an emotional Victoria took to Twitter to publicly thank her husband and children:

“Thank u all so much for your kind words to David! The reception tonight was breath taking and I am so, so proud of him!! Words can’t express how proud I am of David. A truly wonderful and very emotional evening. I’m so proud of my little men too!!!”
