Selena Gomez Says She Used to Dress Like a Boy

Selena Gomez has opened up on her old sense of style, admitted that she used to dress like a boy when she was younger. Selena says that until she was 11, she didn’t really care about fashion, but that all changed as she grew up (and decided to sex herself up for Bieber too?). She really started to get into her own style by the age of 13, when she began to become interested in how celebrities were dressed. She commented:

“I don’t think I was always striving to be a fashionista, I dressed like a boy until I was 11 but when I was 13 I got into layering and trying out my own style and I became interested in the fashion in magazines and looking up the styles of celebrities.”

Selena says she is a ‘classic’ girl when it comes to her own style, and adores boots and scarves:

“Style to me is supposed to be fun, it’s who you are and what mood you’re in. My personal style is definitely more classic. I love flowy pieces, I love white and black, very neutral and organic. The fashion pieces that I have to have would be scarves and boots you can basically wear them at any time of the year. You can wear a scarf with a sundress because it’s very cute and very girly.”
