Rihanna at the 2010 American Music Awards

Appearing at the 2010 American Music Awards, Rihanna wore a sheer paneled red dress with bouncy red curls and hoop earrings. While the dress is beautiful, I’m not convinced by her new hair colour, and those curls – eugh – it didn’t work on Faith Evans, what made Rihanna think it would work for her? Looking past the hideous hair problem, the dress itself is really amazing – sheer is everywhere at the moment, and allows the wearer to get away with a lot of flash fleshing.

It might look like RiRi is showing off a lot of skin, but she’s really wearing a nude piece underneath the dress which makes sure that her private bits are kept nice and private. I love the delicate floral pieces added into the sheer, and the subtle shoulder padding gives her a powerful yet elegant silhouette. Rihanna knows how do dress well – her hair might be a flop, but the rest of this look is simply stunning – and at least she always manages to look completely unique.
