Project Runway Season 5 Final Runway Show

The final runway show for Project Runway is over and done with! Unfortunately, there won’t be many spoilers as far as the top 4 goes because all six of the remaining designers (Kenley, Korto, Leanne, Joe, Jerrell and even Suede), with three of them (unless there’s a twist) as decoys. I have a few tidbits about the show, and I’ll add photos under the cut as soon as I can.

Jennifer Lopez was a no show because of a foot injury. Rumor has it that Padma Likinshi from that other Bravo show might be filling in for her (please just use Rachel Zoe instead!). TIM GUNN is stepping in as a judge! Finally!

Joe’s collection was inspired by “Americana” and Suede’s looked like a cheesy barbie line. Check them both out here.

Kenley

Kenley’s collection was inspired by Alice In Wonderland. It all SCREAMS Kenley, but everything she made looks like an alt version of peices she did for the show. And it’s so cheesy looking, it’s like a 70 year olds condo in Florida exploded on the runway. No thanks.

Korto

Korto’s was inspired by nature. I really like the structure of this collection, and I’ve always liked Korto’s aesthetic. It sort of makes me think of Badgley Mischka or Oscar De La Renta with more of an organic touch. I still think it’s an itsy bitsy bit safe though.

Jerell

A lot of people are liking Jerell’s collection, and I’m not sure why. It doesn’t really look fashion forward to me and there’s WAY too much going on….sequins, gold threading, patterns, iredescent fabric and embriodering all in one outfit? Seriously?

Leanne

I LOVE the second and fifth looks here.

Leanne closes the show. Her collection was “dreamy” and was the crowd favorite. I don’t like her color pallete, although I understand why she chose it, and to be honest I hoped for something better compared to what she did throughout the show and her older Leannimal stuff. But she and Korto are the strongest, definitely.
