Pete Wentz And Ashlee Simpson To Battle For Custody
Posted by Katie F. on March 9th, 2011After filing for divorce last month, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz now seem to be at odds about the custody of their son. In the papers originally filed with the divorce, Simpson asked for sole custody of 2-year-old Bronx Mowgli with visitation for Wentz. However, Wentz filed a response Tuesday with the Los Angeles Superior Court requesting joint custody.
This isn’t the only disagreement the former couple is having. Wentz is also asking that both parties pay legal fees separately. Simpson had originally asked that he pay all the fees.
They released a statement soon after separating last month, claiming that their main focus was Bronx’s care.
“We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority.”
It’s not unreasonable for Pete to ask for shared custody of his son. He just wants fair court proceedings and the right to take care of his child. For Bronx’s sake, hopefully the battle doesn’t get too ugly.
