‘The Vampire Diaries’ actress Nina Dobrev has opened up on the very natural makeup routine she has. Nina says that when she isn’t on set, she likes to keep everything very fresh and simple. She comments that for her own daily makeup, she’ll go as close to bare as possible, but might add a cat-eye if she wants to look a little dressier. The actress often just applies some mascara before stepping out:
“I like to go as natural as possible. I don’t like to wear too much makeup, especially in my day-to-day life. If I want to punch it up, I’ll do a cat-eye. A cat-eye is always fun. Otherwise for the most part, a little bit of mascara, and I’m good to go.”
Nina recently went on a fun-filled road trip across America and she says that whenever she is travelling, she always goes as simple as possible because it’s just easier to maintain and she likes to let her skin breathe. She feels that being bare-faced is a very good feeling because she has to wear so much makeup for the show:
“I really keep it down to a minimum when I’m on the road. I don’t like to wear or do too much. Being fresh, especially after coming off of a TV show where I have makeup every day, all day for 15 hours a day, 9 months a year. It’s been so freeing to kind of wear no makeup and let my skin breathe for the first time and have my hair unruly and crazy curly. I walk out of the shower and go and don’t care. It’s very liberating.”
On the makeup she’ll be wearing this summer, Nina says she hopes to wear none at all:
“Probably nothing. Minimal. No makeup. Fresh air. A smile as my accessory. Having a good time and enjoying life!”
