Rapper M.I.A. showed up to the Met Costume Institute Gala last night, clad in a holey see-through dress which was worn over a more simple black catsuit. This is a really interesting look, and one that really caught my eye when I was looking through all the photos of the event. This is really different to what everyone else wore – I love the sheer yet rough gold dress that she worn on the outer layer – this gives her a soft glow, and is really complimentary to her shape. The black catsuit underneath is really eye catching and attention grabbing.
This is sexy without being too much, and is unique without being too Lady Gaga-ish. This is a great effort over all, and really shows off M.I.A.’s interesting fashion sense.
