Melissa Leo Drops the F-Bomb at the Oscars, Apologizes Immediately After

Melissa Leo dropped the f-bomb in her acceptance speech at the Oscars tonight, apologizing immediately afterward in a statement to People magazine. “The Fighter” actress won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and forgot to censor herself in her excitement.
People reports:
“When I watched Kate [Winslet, for The Reader] two years ago, it looked so [EXPLETIVE DELETED]…” ABC bleeped out the words.
Speaking backstage to reporters afterwards, Leo said, “Those words – I apologize to anyone if they offend. There’s a great deal of the English language that is in my vernacular. I really don’t mean to offend, and probably a very inappropriate place to use that particular word.”
Understandable, though she probably should have tried harder not to use the word. Still, her win was well-deserved in my opinion, so congratulations to Melissa Leo!
