Liberty Ross Shocked by Relaxed Los Angeles Style

British model Liberty Ross is currently living in Los Angeles and she admits that when she first moved to L.A. she was shocked by the relaxed style people wore. She says people often wear leisure-wear and she hates the look because she loves designers who create bold silhouettes that are quite sharp looking, which is the very opposite. She also loves to dress up whenever she’s heading out. The model explained:

”Everyone just wears leisure-wear. It is so shocking! I like to be comfortable, but if I’m working of going out, I want to ‘dress’. I love silhouette – it’s just so important. My favourite designers are Alaia and McQueen, Raf – people who give you a really tight, sharp, edge.”

Liberty thinks of clothes as being “like armour” because it has the ability to create a strong look for the wearer, and she feels powerful when she’s fully dressed up and in a pair of heels:

”Clothes can be like armour – you can suit up, put your heels on and be ready for whatever comes at you.”

Liberty now appears in the new Alice Temperley ad campaign and she says it’s amazing to be working with her close friend again. She comments that she was one of the first people to wear the designer’s clothes when she was just launching the brand so it’s great to reunite:

”I think I was the first girl, let alone model, to wear her things, so it’s just amazing to have a friend who’s worked so hard to create such a well-established British brand.”
