Lea Michele Says Virginity-Losing Sex Scene Was “Awkward”

Glee star Lea Michele has spoken on filming the sex scene which sees her character Rachel Berry lose her virginity to boyfriend Finn Hudson, who is played by Cory Monteith on the show. According to Lea, filming the sex scene was awkward because Cory is like a brother to her in real life, but she is still pleased with the overall result:

“Oh my god, it was way awkward. I adore Cory. He’s like my brother and to have to do some of the stuff we did in front of our entire crew … it’s so less sexy than you think. Really, we were in a room with like 20 people around us, sitting by the fireplace. He was sweating so much. I was so grossed out!”

After the scene was complete, Lea says she liked how it looked:

“But I saw some photos and I was like, ‘Damn! We look good.’ As a fan of the show, it’s something I wanted to see for awhile and it’s very interesting how everything plays out.”

She also likes the fact that the writers have included the scene in the hit musical series, because she feels her character is growing:

“It’s very interesting the way that it’s bled into the story line. I love the choice that they made with how it sort of happens. But everything is really a lesson for Rachel to be learned; she sort of makes a decision but always learns a lesson.”
