Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper: Divas Unite!

Posted by Alyssa on March 2nd, 2010

Pop sensations, Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga have united as the faces of MAC’s Viva Glam, Spring 2010 Campaign. The ladies recently appeared on the Today Show to discuss their work with MAC, as well as the reason the cause means so much to them. For anyone who doesn’t already know about the Viva Glam campaign, one hundred percent of the proceeds from Viva Glam lipsticks and lipglass go toward supporting men and women worldwide with HIV/AIDS. According to the Viva Glam website:

“Lauper characteristically uses her fame as a performer to help make her message heard. Whether touring the country to assist food banks or helming the True Colors Fund, which lobbies for GLBT equality, Lauper stands for what she believes in and, when it comes to HIV/AIDS, that’s safe sex. With the launch of VIVA GLAM Cyndi, she looks forward to helping support women who have contracted HIV/AIDS through rape.”

It also says of Lady Gaga:

“A legend in her own time whose shock value now comes with a couture tag, she jokes about “changing the world one sequin at a time.” With the launch of VIVA GLAM Gaga, that could be one shade at a time. Her take on HIV/AIDS prevention: Be selective about those you love.”

Past Viva Glam spokespeople have been Eve, Christina Aguilera, Linda Evangelista, Missy Elliott, Chloe Sevigny and Boy George to name a few.
