Jennifer Lopez Suffered From ‘Baby Blues’ After Giving Birth

Jennifer Lopez has opened up on finding it hard to bond with her twins Max and Emme. The American Idol judge reveals that two weeks after giving birth, she felt as though she wasn’t naturally connecting with them and she didn’t understand why – she even thought they didn’t love her:

”I remember after the babies were born, about seven to 10 days in, I was like, ‘What is going on with me? I felt sad and depressed and thought the babies didn’t love me.”

Jennifer than read the novel which the film ‘What to Expect When Your Expecting’ is based on that she now stars in. She comments that the book calls the experience the ‘baby blues’ which is exactly what she was going through at the time, an experience involving a hormonal drop:

”I actually remember picking up the book to try to see what was happening to me. And it said how you have this huge hormonal drop about seven to 10 days after you give birth. It’s called the ‘baby blues.’ But I just thought they didn’t like me!”
