Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift Are Over

Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift caused waves when they were first spotted backstage at “Saturday Night Live.” Less than three months later, the couple, considered controversial by some because of 9-year age gap, is over.

“They’re over,” a source tells PEOPLE about the short-lived relationship. “It ended last month.”

No reason was given for a split, and the stars reps didn’t have immediate comment, but the two spent the holidays – and their birthdays – apart.

I don’t think anyone’s surprised that Swillenhaal (Jaylor? Gyllenswift?) didn’t last.
