Nick Bollea Will Do Time

Is it just a coincidence that this happened right around the same time that Hulk Hogan’s ‘American Gladiators’ was kicking off? Well, he may have been the professional persona in front of the camera, but Hulk Hogan needs some gladiators in his own life.

His son, Nick Bollea, has just been sentenced to 8 months of jail and five years probation for the car crash that critically injured his best friend. Nick will also be surrendering his driving privileges for three years. Nick plead no contest to charges going back to November, where he was arrested and charged with felony reckless driving causing severe bodily harm to his friend John Graziano. John left the scene with a broken skull and other serious injuries that will require lifetime medical attention. T

he cause of the accident boils down to some idiotic kid tricks, where Nick was racing his father’s car, during which he clipped a curb and spun out of control and head on into a palm tree in Clearwater, Florida. Nick walked away and well, John well, didn’t. Nick’s sentence began immediately, and he was removed from court to start his time as soon as the hearing closed.

This is one of those things where I just kind of go hmmm….is 8 months really enough? Granted yes probation for 5 years, and some driving privileges lost, but seriously?? 8 months for HIM and the dude he injured needs medical treatment for life. It just doesn’t quite sound fair enough, does it.

Pete and Ashlee Will Get Married — THIS Weekend!

It sounds like there is a little rush rush going on, and yet still, mum is the word. But someone let the cat out of the bag because Pete and Ashlee are definitely getting married this weekend. The happy day will be May 17 and will happen somewhere in the Los Angeles area.

Why the rush? Hm, perhaps she needs to get this knot tied before she starts to show? What do you think? These two could be military spies the way they are keeping everything…MUM.

Rehearsal dinner on Friday night, after which the guests will be moved to a ‘secure location’ for the ceremony on Saturday. And that’s about all we know. Maybe the big mouth big sister Jessica Simpson will dish some details sooner than later.

Many advance congrats to Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson for their wedding, and um, anything else they may need congratulations on. I do hope we see some wedding dress pictures soon.

The Stars Preview the Dior Cruise 2009 Collection

All the stars were out in New York City last night to preview the Christian Dior Cruise 2009 Collection. Attendees included Christina Aguilera, J Lo and Marc Anthony, Charlize Theron, Leighton Meester from Gossip Girl, and many more. Hm, now that we know what they are wearing, it’d be nice to see some of that collection, non?

Idol Dad Banned From Rehearsals

Do you ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes? Or how the parents are really handling all of this newfound fame and glory for their kids? We never really hear about any of the real life stuff unless someone’s made a sex tape, been a former porn star, gotten arrested, or has a rap sheet.

So, this year, and only just recently, things have gotten a little heated in the backstage scenes of American Idol.David Archuleta apparently has a stage dad from hell, and the Idol producers are NOT happy. Last week, David’s dad was seen yelling at David to the point of reducing David to tears, and producers quickly learned that this stage dad had control issues that were less than appropriate for the already tense set of American Idol.

David’s dad, Jeff crossed the line by insisting that David change the lyrics to ‘Stand by Me’. The change was to include a verse from Sean Kingston’s ‘Beautiful Girls’ and because copyrights need to be purchased for every song performed, Idol producers were racking up some bills as a result.

They put their foot down, Jeff got irate, and he’s facing some consequences. The Associated Press is reporting now that Jeff Archuleta, David’s dad, has now been banned from any Idol rehearsals. Jeff will not be allowed to help David prepare for the show’s performances, which for David, the producers are thinking it may be a good thing.

At this point however, both Fox and the Archuleta’s aren’t commenting, so everyone is just pretending it all didn’t happen I guess.

Now David will be able to perform without the added stress, but will this help him or hurt him? Well, we will know this week, won’t we?

Monday Smack Talk

Just a note guys…things are probably going to be pretty slow around here for the next week or two. I’m launching a major project this week and I’m working away at getting it done asap. I’ll post more about it later, but if you want to know now, check out OohLaLuxe.net. In the meantime, we’ll definitely be covering all the shows (American Idol, Lost, SYTYCD4 woot!) and I’ll try and pop in with some celeb stuff when I can.
