You guys seemed to REALLY love the last post I made about Clay, so here’s another one! His new album “On My Way Here” is due out May 6th, and here’s the (unconfirmed) track listing:
On My Way Here Album Tracklisting
1. On My Way Here
2. Ashes
3. Everything I Don’t Need
4. Something About Us
5. Falling
6. Where I Draw The Line
7. The Real Me
8. Weight Of The World
9. As Long As We’re Here
10. Sacrificial Love
11. Grace Of God
12. Lover All Alone <- yes!!!!
I’m SO happy they’re including “Lover All Alone”. That was my favorite track off his last album, and it technically wasn’t even a part of that album. Can’t wait until we get to hear a few samples of the songs, I’m hoping they’re great! I have especially high expectations for the title track, which was written by Ryan Tedder (from One Republic).

Alright. I’m sure none of you will be surprised to learn that I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Dolly Parton’s music. Hence the “attempted”. Keep in mind that I’m basing all of this off of the 30 second clips on itunes.
David A. - I Will Always Love You
So heeeere we go. After S1 this song has pretty much been banned from the show (thankfully), and I’m wondering if they’ll finally allow someone to take a stab at it again. If so, Syesha MUST stay away from it! Same goes for the other girls. But I would really love to hear little David go for it, and maybe even do it a capella (or at least semi a capella). I’ve heard him singing it when he was younger and he nailed it, but his voice isn’t quite the same now. But this could get him “back in the game” (cause you know, some people actually think he’s not the front runner anymore *snickers*)
Also… 9 to 5, to hear him do something different.
David C. - Prediction: Jolene by The White Stripes [listen]
Maybe he’ll sing it note for note, drag the mic stand around and add a shouty glory note 3/4 of the way through! Lather, rinse, repeat. Keep reading.
Brooke - Jolene
I’m sure Crook already has his grubby little fingers all over this, but I think Brooke could do the song the most justice and add emotion to it. I also hope whoever sings it strips it down and takes out some of the twang. Actually, I quite like this song and I can imagine several of them fighting over it.
Also…. Blowin’ In The Wind
Jason C. - Islands In The Stream
I think he could potentially do well in this theme; some people are doubting him, but I’m not sure why, country isn’t that far off from his vibe. This song is nice, sweet and mellow just like him. And I just might throw him a vote if he throws some “Ghetto Superstar” in the mix.
Also…. Coat of Many Colors
Ramiele - Here You Come Again
Clay Aiken did a cover of this song on his last album, and I can hear her doing an arrangement similar to that. It would be playing it safe once again for her, but I think out of all the contestants she’ll have the hardest time with this theme.
Also… Heartbreaker, could make a pretty pop song.
Carly - Save The Last Dance For Me
I’m not sure why, but this kind of sounds like an 80s dance song with a country feel to me. So she could probably change the arrangement slightly and add in some glory notes and make it work.
Michael - Me & Bobby McGhee
I had NO IDEA what to pick for him, but I went with this because it has a bit of a soulful/bluesy vibe to it. I’m not too worried about what he’ll choose though; I read that his first concert was actually the Islands In the Stream tour!
Kristy - Why’d You Come In here Lookin’ Like That
She should be fine (unfortunately) on any of the songs since she’s like, really country.
I know, I left out Syesha. I can’t hear her singing any of the songs I listened to, but I hope she does well!
A couple other updates:
Jordin will be making her first appearance back on the show. She and Chris Brown will sing “No Air” on the Top 8 results show (that’s the day after Idol Gives Back).
Mariah Carey will be the mentor for the Top 7 show, and rumor has it the theme will be Billboard #1’s, which makes sense (she’s had a TON of them, and its a theme they’ve done at least twice before).
The Clarks Brothers are set to make an appearance on next weeks show.
And if the theme for IGB is inspirational songs again, that would make Andrew Lloyd Webber the mentor for the top 6. The theme will be his songs.

Madonna does Vanity Fair with closed legs and lots of airbrushing. Thank goodness. [CFW]
A 12 year old girl was working as a stripper. Is she a distant Spears cousin?? [PotP]
Ashlee Simpson is planning a T shirt line for Wet Seal. [Hollywood Backwash]
Christina loves her post baby body, including her watermelon sized boobs. [Daily Stab]
Danny Noriega hangs with drag queens. [Idol Stalker]

Lauren Conrad launched her line at Holt Renfrew stores in Toronto yesterday. And I’m only posting this because I really LOVE what she’s wearing here, which is pretty disturbing considering she designed it (and she’s wearing it). Must resist giving her my money….

Reports are that Katie Holmes is on the verge of some kind of mental or physical breakdown of sorts. The other day she was lunching at the trendy celeb joint Joan’s on Third and was appearing weak, pale, and I believe even the word feeble was used.As she left, she had to brace herself against the doorframe and needed help from her bodyguard to get in an SUV waiting for her.
But spells like this are not uncommon for Queen Cruise. She’s about to hit the scary thin watch list, and yet still obsesses about her weight, is starkly pale, and suffers from chronic headaches and dizzy spells where she sees black spots. And surprise, surprise. It is speculated that her hubby may be the source of all her physical and emotional strains.
She’s required to pull off a remodel of their $35 million mansion in Beverly Hills, and Tom expects it to be some kind of major status symbol. And we all know that he has very high expectations of her, perhaps higher than she was expecting. And, not sure what is up with this, but there is strange murmurs about how Suri is never around anymore. I hadn’t noticed until just then.
To make matters worse, it seems Tom is not around all that much with frequent trips away. Trips for which he uses the motto ‘You can be with me, but don’t ask about it’. She’s not getting enough sleep, and when Tom is around, their nights clock well past midnight.
She’s been undergoing retail therapy to get through it all, and dieting to the extreme. And as such, her health is suffering. I’m thinking, those must be some pretty MAJOR expectations if that is the source of her health problems. Because if I had nothing better to do than remodel my home and decide between pairs of Louboutins, can’t say I would experience ANY kind of suffering at all. Mind you, I wonder if that remodel includes the bunker to escape the aliens? Hm. Yeah, that would be a little stressful.
